2 people found dead after early morning shooting in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - CSPD officers found two people dead after they responded to an early morning "shots fired" call at a home in a northern Colorado Springs neighborhood.

Investigators said at 1:27 a.m. on Saturday, shots were fired at a gathering in the 11900 block of Hanging Valley Way. When officers arrived on the scene, they found two dead adults.

Neighbors told KRDO crews they heard between twenty and thirty gunshots within a few minutes, then saw a number of people and cars leave the area.

"I heard a bunch of shots ring out and it was extremely loud," one man said. "It was at that time I realized something was amiss."

At this time, investigators are still trying to determine how many people were involved in the incident. The names of the victims have not been released. On social media, CSPD said, "we believe this was an isolated incident and there is no immediate threat to the public."
