EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- As COVID-19 cases continue to rise throughout Colorado, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) recommends cooking and eating a special meal with members of your immediate households, and video chatting or talking on the phone with friends and families who don't live with you.

The CDPHE writes that "it’s important to do everything possible to keep yourself and your loved ones safe while celebrating Thanksgiving."

With that, here are the states dos and don’ts for Thanksgiving celebrations:

  • Do interact in-person with people from your household to slow the spread of COVID-19.
  • Do cook and eat a special meal with members of your immediate household.
  • Do video chat or talk on the phone with friends and family who don’t live with you.
  • Do wear a mask and keep 6 feet of distance from others while grocery shopping for your Thanksgiving feast.
  • Don’t travel to visit family and friends in other households.

On Thanksgiving Day, Zoom has announced they're getting rid of a time limit for all video calls. The 40-minute call limit for free users will be lifted worldwide.
