19-year-old suspect accused of murder in ‘gang-related shooting’ near Pueblo Mall

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- After three people were detained following a gang-related shooting near the Pueblo Mall Tuesday, at least one suspect has been arrested for a first-degree murder charge.

Sgt. Franklyn Ortega with Pueblo Police said Tuesday when police arrived on the scene they found a young man unresponsive inside a blue car that mounted the curb near the intersection of Hart Road and 29th Street. The young man was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to an update from Pueblo Police on Wednesday, 19-year-old Issaiah Apodaca was charged with murder. Additional arrests and charges are pending, police said.

The Pueblo County coroner identified the victim Wednesday as 23-year-old Isaiah Rivera Najera of Pueblo.
