COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The only outdoor rink in the area, Skate in the Park, returns to downtown Colorado Springs today. The rink is located on the west side of Acacia Park and will be open from Friday, November 13th until January 31st.

Downtown Colorado Springs in collaboration with City Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services outlines that the rink will be open to both public skate sessions and private events, with COVID-19 restrictions.

To comply with public health protocols, the rink will ensure capacity limits, extra cleaning, and sanitizing between sessions.

  • Reservations are required (online purchase only). Walk-ins are not allowed.
  • Tickets available only two weeks in advance, to allow for any changes in public health protocol.
  • Hours and days of operations vary.

Tickets cost $9 per skater and include skates. Children under 4 are free when accompanied by paid admission. Due to capacity limits, spectators must reserve a free ticket to accompany skaters.

Downtown Partnership hopes Skate in the Park will help boost the local economy and bring foot traffic to downtown Colorado Springs businesses amid the pandemic.
