COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Investigators with the Colorado Springs Police Department identified a suspect accused of a shooting that left a 57-year-old man dead in early October.

The shooting happened on Oct. 6 near the 200 block of N. Wahsatch Ave. Police found Todd Barnes with a gunshot wound, but he later died after being taken to the hospital.

CSPD said on Tuesday that a suspect was identified, and police got an arrest warrant for 36-year-old David Laird Bloom for first-degree murder.

According to police, Bloom was already in custody for unrelated charges when he was served with the warrant for murder. A mugshot hasn't been made available.

We're working on getting more information on what led to Bloom's murder charge.

Police say the shooting is still under investigation, and they're asking for witnesses to call 719-444-7000 with information.
