With Halloween during a pandemic, what are the trendy costumes?
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- As Halloween approaches, we decided to hit up the local Party City to see what some of the trends were heading into the spooky holiday.
Despite Covid-19, Assistant Manager of Party City April Leitte says business has been pretty good.
“We are actually seeing a lot of customers and everyone is being really respectful of the six-foot social distancing but they are coming out getting costumes, decorations, and celebrating Halloween," she said.
And Party City actually ranked their top five costumes this year:
- Slasher-themed
- Gamer-themed
- Everyday heroes (first responders)
- Disney's "Frozen" characters
- "Tiger King" inspired
Leitte said a big draw to the first responder costumes is the mask usually fits, adding, “You can still wear a mask with it and you can dress it up as much as you want.”
But this year, fewer people are expected to be out trick-or-treating. So what exactly are they doing?
Leitte said, “We are really seeing a mix of virtual parties, parades, trunk or treat -- a lot of different things, they are being very creative.”
So remember to keep your social distance and have a safe and fun Halloween.
