Would you work from home forever?

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - Companies all across the country are reassessing their way of business, after employees spent months working from home due to COVID-19 restrictions.

As some businesses consider moving entirely to remote work, KRDO asked people living in Colorado Springs how they'd feel about working at home forever.

Some people said it's probably best they return to the office.

"Honestly working in an office is probably better for social stuff, like production wise," said Allen Gomez.

"It's really hard to focus at home and I have a lot of distractions at home, and it's just hard to get work done," Gus Thompson agreed.

Others said they're ready to ditch the cubicles for the long haul.

"Because I'm pretty introverted. That's about it," one woman told us.

"You don't have to drive, you don't have to buy more clothes -- a lot of good reasons to stay home," Rachel Copeland listed, in addition to spending more time with family and saving money.

On the national scale, some businesses have already decided to stay remote moving forward. Big tech companies are the trailblazers.

Google employees have the option to work from home until at least July 2021. Meanwhile Dropbox, Shopify, Twitter, and Facebook all have plans to allow at least some of their employees to work from home forever.

Right now, offices in Colorado are allowed to operate at fifty percent capacity. That executive order is set to expire November 6th, if it isn't extended again.
