CSPD investigates 3 separate bank robberies that happened Thursday afternoon

BANK

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Colorado Springs Police are continuing to investigate not one, not two, but three separate bank robberies from Thursday afternoon. The span of robberies all happened within a two-hour window.

It all started around 1:42 p.m. Thursday when a male suspect walked into the Ent Credit Union on 4270 Flintridge Drive. The suspect gave a note demanding money. After receiving the money, the suspect fled the area.

Police actually believe this is the same suspect from another bank robbery on Galley Road from earlier this month.

Natashia Kerr with CSPD said, “Through the investigation, our robbery unit detectives were able to determine that it is believed that one of the suspects in the robbery yesterday at an Ent Credit Union is actually the same suspect that was involved in a separate robbery October 8.”

Then, just four minutes after the first robbery, a call for another bank robbery came in from 3125 Jet Wing Drive. He produced a note and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The third and final robbery took place at 3:21 p.m. A single suspect walked into this Chase Bank on 3306 Centennial Blvd. and he too demanded cash using a note.

“All three of these robberies were similar in nature in the sense that all suspects had entered the bank or the credit union and had produced a note that demanded cash before they ended up leaving the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash,” said Kerr.

However, none of these three suspects in Thursday’s robberies were of the same description.

Kerr said, “So far preliminarily, all of the statements that we have so far that none of the suspect descriptions match for any of these. But of course, our detectives are going to look into this to see if they are linked and that will come out in the investigation.”

Detectives from the Colorado Springs Police Department Robbery Unit responded to all three scenes and took over the investigation. If you have any information please contact CSPD at 444-7000.
