Former Schriever NCO linked to white supremacist group discharged from Air Force
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Air Force has discharged an airman who was found to be an active member of a white supremacist group in Colorado.
We reported last year when Tech Sgt. Cory Reeves was identified by Colorado Springs Anti-Fascists as a member of Identity Evropa, which was a white supremacist group that has since rebranded under the American Identity Movement.
The Air Force investigated the claims and determined that Reeves, who had been in the service for more than 15 years and was most recently assigned to Schriever Air Force Base, was an active member of Identity Evropa and raised money for the group. He was demoted from Master Sergeant to Tech Sergeant last September.
Pictures shared by the Colorado Springs Anti-Fascists showed Reeves at multiple Identity Evropa events, and chat logs showed that he was willing to help another member of the group with "some missions" in Colorado Springs. Those screenshots were leaked by Unicorn Riot, and Reeves claims in a chat that he was the only member of the group in Hawaii before he moved to Colorado.
Reeves acknowledged that he had been photographed at the Identity Evropa events, even saying in a chat log, "High-resolution photos of my face are all over Antifa websites and they are clueless to my identity."
Identity Evropa was one of the most active white supremacist groups in recent years, according to the Anti-Defamation League.
At the time we reported the story, a spokesperson with Schriever Air Force Base said "racism, hatred, and bigotry have no place in the Air Force, and we're committed to a culture where all airmen can feel welcome and thrive."
We've attempted to reach Reeves for comment but our attempts have been unsuccessful.
