Gov. Jared Polis gives update on COVID-19, Colorado wildfires
DENVER (KRDO) -- Colorado Gov. Jared Polis is giving updates on two major focuses in the state this week: the ongoing response to COVID-19 and the firefighting efforts against multiple wildfires burning their way through forest lands.
Watch below starting around 2:30 p.m.:
The state Public Health Department did report on Monday that Colorado has seen its lowest three-day positivity rate since the pandemic began. The decrease in transmission is likely attributable to the governor's mandate last month to wear masks inside all public spaces.
However, as the fight against COVID-19 continues, new fights against several major wildfires in Colorado are still beginning.
As of Tuesday, more than 100,000 acres had been burned by four different fires.
