COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Cathy Socia Tomovich, a Colorado Springs mosaic artist, runs a company called, Shattered Glass Restored. Shattered Glass Restored takes broken pieces of glass or china, making them into beautiful pieces of mosaic art.

Throughout the pandemic, Tomovich has done giveaways for the last 10 weeks to healthcare workers, essential workers, teachers, and others. She also has posted free online mosaic classes via her Facebook page.

All of Shattered Glass Restored's mosaics are made using upcycle materials keeping them out of the landfill. Tomovich writes, "I am self-taught and make several types of mosaics. My most popular are the lighted glass blocks, old windows, and tempered glass."

Tomovich has been creating mosaics since 2014, and teaching since 2016.
