Inmate in suicide at El Paso County Jail ID’d

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- An inmate who died by suicide at the El Paso County Jail Tuesday has been identified as 45-year-old Michael Roach.

The sheriff's office said in a release Friday that Roach was found in his cell attempting suicide by hanging. A medical emergency was declared at about 1:15 p.m. Despite life saving efforts by medical staff, Roach was pronounced dead.

"We would like to extend our deepest sympathies to Mr. Roach's family and friends," said the sheriff's office.
