D20 to move forward with modified in-person graduation ceremonies

MGN

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Right on the heels of District 11, Academy District 20 made the announcement that it too plans on proceeding with modified in-person graduation ceremonies. This comes after the state health department approved an El Paso County variance request for graduation late Thursday.

"This news it hot off the press, so we don’t have all the details, but we expect more information in the coming days," said Allison Cortez with D20 in a statement sent to KRDO Friday.

D20 is currently planning to hold graduation ceremonies on the following dates:

  • Air Academy High School – June 22, 2020
  • Discovery Canyon Campus High School – June 23, 2020
  • Liberty High School – June 24, 2020
  • Pine Creek High School – June 25, 2020
  • Rampart High School – June 26, 2020

However, Cortez cautions that plans could change at any time should virus cases spike. If that happens, virtual graduations will be held on the same dates.
