70-year-old dies in motorcycle crash east of Colorado Springs

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that left one man dead Thursday afternoon.

The single-vehicle crash happened just before 2 p.m. along N. Powers Boulevard near Omaha Boulevard. A spokesman with CSP tells us the rider was likely going too fast to negotiate a curve in the road.

The rider was taken to a hospital where he later died of his injuries. He was not wearing a helment. CSP tells us the rider was a 70-year-old male, but his identity is being withheld at this time.
