Man suspected of making child porn arrested in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Springs Police Department says a child is now safe after a suspected 'active producer' of child porn was arrested Thursday.

The man in custody is 26-year-old Gregory Lopez. He was arrested in the 1900 block of Chelton Road by investigators who were acting on a tip, said CSPD. Police say Lopez is believed to have made 'child sex abuse material.'

A search warrant was executed in a joint operation with Homeland Security, resulting in Lopez's arrest.

Police weren't able to immediately provide more details. A mugshot for Lopez was provided on Monday.
