‘Tech drive’ collects laptops, tablets for El Paso County students in need during e-learning

IT drive

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Earlier this week, we learned that students in Colorado would not be returning to campuses this spring due to coronavirus. Instead, they'll remain on e-learning.

Here in El Paso County, more than 100 students do not have a device to access e-learning.

That's why a technology drive took place earlier today at Pulpit Rock Church, located on Austin Bluffs Parkway. People were able to donate new or used computers or tablets so that student can have access to this new way of learning.

All volunteers wore masks and those donating didn't have to get out of their car. If you donated your device, the IT Team at Pikes Peak United Way will clear all your personal data before passing the device to the student.
