COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Taking weekend trips across the state is about to be a lot cheaper for Colorado College students -- CC announced a partnership with CDOT to provide free tickets on the state's Bustang service.

The Colorado Department of Transportation announced a partnership with the Colorado College Student Government Association Wednesday. Essentially, the SGA is buying Bustang tickets at a bulk discounted rate, and then those tickets are being given for free to students with a college ID card.

That means students will be able to ride up and down the Front Range or across the state to Grand Junction while spending less money than it takes to park across the street from CC.

“This will provide CC students with another means to travel home if they’re from other areas of the state, like the northern Front Range and the Grand Junction area,” said Bustang Operations Manager Michael Timlin.  “In addition, if a CC student needs to travel south, they can connect with Bustang Outrider to connect with Pueblo and other areas of southeast and south-central Colorado.”

The buses are equipped with WiFi, a restroom, USB and power outlets, and they have bicycle storage.

Here's a map of where Bustang services go. (CDOT didn't specify that this offer includes Snowstang services.)
