Crash kills one person on I-25 near Greenland exit

UPDATE: I-25 northbound was reopened at Exit 167 - Greenland around 8:40 p.m.

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- Colorado State Patrol is investigating a deadly crash that happened Wednesday afternoon just north of the El Paso County line.

The crash was first reported around 4:30 p.m. at Greenland, Exit 167 and confirmed fatal soon after by CSP. The northbound lanes of I-25 at County Line Road were closed until 8:40 p.m., according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

Traffic has been detoured to CO 83 or CO 105, says CDOT. Crews are warning drivers to use those alternate routes and expect delays.
