Trooper injured in four-car crash in Baca County
BACA COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- A Colorado State Patrol trooper was hurt in an accident Friday, in which a Baca County Sheriff's Deputy also was involved.
At 4:45 p.m. a trooper and a deputy had each stopped to help with a semi-tractor trailer rig that had gotten into a solo accident.
While they were stopped on the side of the Highway 287, a driver from Arizona rear-ended the Trooper's car, causing a chain reaction. All four vehicles were hit. A photo posted by the CSP La Junta & Lamar shows the mess.
Investigators don't believe that drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash. However, they are urging drivers to slow down in bad weather and look carefully for any hazard lights.
Thankfully, CSP says the trooper's injuries are minor and no one else was hurt.
