Skier dies after incident at Winter Park
GRAND COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- A skier who was reported missing Saturday afternoon around 4:45 p.m. was found after several hours and later pronounced dead.
Winter Park Ski Patrol immediately began a search on the mountain and located the skier just after 7:30 p.m. in the trees adjacent to the White Rabbit trail, according to Winter Park communications.
Ski Patrol began rescue efforts and transported the skier to the Denver Health Clinic at the base of the mountain resort. The skier was pronounced dead at about 8:24 p.m.
"Winter Park Resort and Ski Patrol staff expresses its deepest condolences and sympathies to friends and family," the resort said in a statement.
