Police investigate reported robbery in southeast Colorado Springs
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- A robbery that happened just after midnight early Saturday is currently under investigation.
Police say that at 12:33 a.m. they received a report of a robbery with a weapon in the 6500 block of S. Academy Boulevard.
The reporting party told police that four suspects had entered the business and started taking merchandise. When the reporting party confronted them, one of the suspects told him to "back off" and reached into his pocket.
The reporting party told police he believed the suspect had a weapon, which is when he immediately returned to the back room and called police.
Officers arrived in the area within minutes of the call, but the suspects had already fled the scene. Police say they were unable to find any of the suspects.
The investigation is ongoing at this time.
