Public invited to honor USMC veteran being buried at Pikes Peak National Cemetery
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Patriot Guard Riders want people to show up at the Pikes Peak National Cemetery on Thursday to help honor a veteran who will have no family present at his burial.
Duane Lawrence, a veteran of the US Marine Corps, will be interred at noon on Thursday. PPNC and the American Legion Post 209 are organizing honors for Lawrence.
According to the Patriot Guard Riders, Lawrence is an unaccompanied veteran with no family or representatives in the area.
