Otis Park reopens after maintenance worker finds body Tuesday

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Colorado Springs Police are investigating what led to a man's death at Otis Park Tuesday morning.

Police blocked off an area near the playground of Otis Park, which is on Iowa Ave. in the Knob Hill neighborhood. CSPD said the death is "suspicious" and said the body had obvious signs of trauma. Homicide detectives with the Colorado Springs Police Department arrived on scene to investigate, along with police K-9s and the Metro Crime Lab.

The victim was identified by Colorado Springs Police on Wednesday as 37-year-old Mitchell Arellano.

Several neighbors said they heard gunshots overnight. Police confirmed they got calls about gunshots at around 1 a.m., but a spokesperson couldn't say if those calls and the death are related.
