Colorado Springs police seek suspect in fatal hit-and-run; victim identified

academy and hancock crash

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Colorado Springs police say they need help finding the driver of a pickup truck who ran away from a fatal crash early Thursday morning.

The crash happened shortly after 12 a.m. Thursday near S. Academy Boulevard and Hancock Expressway. CSPD says a woman driving north on Academy attempted to turn left onto Hancock when a Chevrolet Silverado collided into her car.

The woman, identified as 52-year-old Rosalinda Jacquez of Colorado Springs, was killed in the crash.

Police described the driver of the pickup truck as a Hispanic male with a medium build, possibly in his late 30s, wearing dark clothing. Investigators say he may have an injury that could cause him to limp, as well as facial injuries resulting from the crash.

If you have information about the crash or the suspect driver's whereabouts, call police at 719-444-7000.
