Woman ID’d in fatal shooting in northeast Colorado Springs
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Police are investigating what led to the fatal shooting of a woman Friday, May 29 in a parking lot in northeast Colorado Springs.
A woman was taken to a hospital but died from her injuries. She was later identified by police June 4 as 36-year-old Samantha Morgan of Colorado Springs. This is the 20th homicide investigation of 2020, said CSPD.
According to an alert from the Colorado Springs Police Department, officers were called to a local hospital around 1:10 a.m. after a woman showed up with a life-threatening gunshot wound. The officers spoke to people who took her to the hospital and learned that the shooting happened in a parking lot near 4600 Hinsdale Way.
Police are asking for anyone with tips to call 719-444-7000. The case remains under investigation.
