COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - One of the directors of the Colorado Springs Bridge Center, where there was a recent deadly COVID-19 outbreak, was released from the hospital Wednesday after recovering from the virus.

Tom Goings was treated for nearly two months. He was admitted into the Saint Francis Medical Center on March 15, according to his son-in-law O.J. Pinckert, who reached out to KRDO.

Our crews caught it all on camera, as Goings was wheeled out the hospital doors.

His two daughters, who are both registered nurses, told us words can't describe how relieved they are.

"We actually had one doctor say that there's a 90% chance that he’s not going to come out of this," said Deana Pinckert.

"It was like every time he got over one hurdle, it was like the next hurdle, and then the next hurdle -- and it’s just kind of surreal to finally be at this point where we’re able to take him home," said Marie Brandon, explaining Tom's struggle with the virus.

Amid the excitement, Tom was nearly speechless.

"I'm not religious, but I’ve got to say it’s a miracle," he said.
