Parade honors healthcare workers at Children’s Hospital Colorado in Colorado Springs
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Colorado healthcare workers have been working tirelessly throughout the course of the pandemic.
Thursday, the Colorado Springs community came together to honor their hard work with a parade at Children's Hospital Colorado in Colorado Springs.
Local law enforcement, sports teams and community groups, and national team mascots all took part in the vehicle parade around the hospital's campus.
Those in attendance included the Colorado Springs Police Department, Colorado Springs Fire Department, El Paso County Sheriff, Denver Broncos and the Colorado Rockies -- to name a few.
Sergeant Jason Newton with the Colorado Springs Police Department says they were honored to tip their hats to their fellow first responders.
Officials with the Children's Hospital Colorado say they were so grateful for those who came out to recognize their staff, as they have been working relentlessly since January to minimize the spread of COVID-19.
