On the lookout: Colorado Springs police looking for a serial graffiti tagger

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Colorado Springs police are looking for the person or persons responsible for graffiti tagged across the city.

On Monday, police the city's graffiti team has cleaned up more than 165 tags with the same letters, "SWYM."

The Colorado Springs Neighborhood Services team has been monitoring and cleaning up the tag since early April.

"We received a citizen complaint and that is the very first time I started to notice this tag. That property that was tagged had over 42 tags on the property itself," says Pedro Laumbach, a member of the team.

Laumbach believes the person responsible is going out every night and finding a new spot to add their graffiti.

The city says each clean-up is about $55. As of Tuesday moring, Laumbach says the price tag for taxpayers is above $11,000.

Colorado Springs police say they have no suspect description and are asking the community for help.
