Docs: Colorado Springs parents sold fentanyl to 13-year-old who overdosed twice

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Newly released court documents reveal that a 13-year-old girl nearly died from two separate fentanyl overdoses, purchased the drugs from two Colorado Springs parents who police believe killed their 14-month-old child with fentanyl in the months before the teen's overdoses.
Detective DelCore with Colorado Springs Police wrote in a statement to a judge that he believes 36-year-old Joenny Astacio Ottenwalder has "no moral compass" as he will sell drugs "to anyone, no matter what age to make money to support his drug addiction."
This statement comes after an interview with Astacio Ottenwalder, who was already in custody for the fentanyl-related death of his infant son, where the man admitted to selling drugs to a 13-year-old girl who ended up overdosing from those drugs on two separate occasions but survived.
Detective DelCore wrote that the 13-year-old "was brought back to life from the brink of death" both times she overdosed, first in December 2021 and again in February 2022. Colorado Springs Police confirmed to KRDO that the child was using fentanyl in the form of blue M30 pills. Both the 13-year-old and Astacio Ottenwalder confirmed to detectives that the child purchased the pills from the 36-year-old.
Astacio Ottenwalder and his partner, 29-year-old Kira Villalba, are both facing six charges each for the overdoses of that 13-year-old. The charges include child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and unlawful distribution of a schedule two controlled substance to a minor.
The pair is due in court on Wednesday morning.
