Two hide in crawl space as police execute a search warrant in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) arrested five people today after two people hid in a crawl space during a search warrant execution.

According to CSPD, the arrests happened on Thursday around 3:30 p.m. in the 1200 block of Falcon Avenue. Detectives with the Violent Offender Fugitive Task Force were locating a robbery suspect and set up surveillance on the residence.

Initially, CSPD says they were investigating 37-year-old Rebekah Ray, who had two felony warrants for different robberies and a misdemeanor warrant. During surveillance, detectives say they observed behavior they connected to the alleged dealing of illegal narcotics.

At the same time, they also identified another suspect, 18-year-old Jorden Ray, who had a felony warrant for her arrest. CSPD says they requested help from the Tactical Enforcement Unit and started to ask people to come out of the residence.

One of the people who left the home was 37-year-old William Ford, who CSPD says had multiple felony and misdemeanor warrants for his arrest.

Rebekah Ray and Jorden Ray refused to exit, so officials say they obtained and executed a search warrant for the house. Both suspects were eventually taken into custody. Still, CSPD says there were more people in the house who refused to leave.

According to CSPD, chemical munitions were thrown into the house, and after that units went in and located a crawl space where two people were hiding.

19-year-old Shaylynn Perry and 20-year-old Thomas White eventually left the crawl space after more chemical munitions were put into the area. Perry had a misdemeanor warrant for her arrest, and White had a felony and misdemeanor warrant, CSPD says.

Officials also removed two firearms from the house.
