LAS VEGAS (AP) — A defense lawyer has raised mental health questions about a man accused of killing two people and wounding six in a stabbing attack last week on a Las Vegas Strip sidewalk. The suspect, Yoni Barrios, was arraigned Tuesday on murder and attempted murder charges. A judge ordered him held without bail pending a Jan. 12 preliminary hearing. Outside court, Deputy Public Defender Scott Coffee called Barrios’ competency an obvious issue. Barrios is from Guatemala and his lawyer says he has lived in the U.S. for several years. Barrios is accused of fatally stabbing a showgirl and a man in an attack Oct. 6 that also wounded six other people.
