DENVER (AP) — A federal judge has ruled that a man accused of killing three people in 2015 at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado is incompetent to stand trial. Thursday’s ruling means another delay in U.S. prosecutors’ efforts to bring Robert Dear to trial after he was repeatedly deemed incompetent in state court. U.S. District Court Senior Judge Robert Blackburn found Dear incompetent during a hearing in Denver. Dear has been diagnosed with a delusional disorder. Prosecutors and defense lawyers did not contest Thursday’s finding but Dear did. The Denver Post reports Blackburn ordered Dear to continue receiving mental health treatment in the hopes that a trial could happen eventually.
