CSPD investigates suspicious package at business after previous ‘vague threats involving explosives’

KRDO

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) says it investigated a potential bomb threat after a business had received vague threats involving explosives.

According to CSPD, officers responded to a call around 11:45 a.m. of a suspicious package in the 200 block of South Union Boulevard. CSPD says the reporting party said they had received vague threats involving explosives the week before and found several boxes left near an exterior door of the business.

CSPD says officers as well as members of the Regional Explosives Unit responded, and bomb techs did render-safe procedures to determine the box contained medical supplies.

CSPD says no hazardous materials or explosives were found, and the incident is not suspected to be related to the other reported threats.
