Speedys Smoke Shop and Los Compadres Liquor Store raided, accused of selling THC and psilocybin to minors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- On Wednesday, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) teamed up with the D.E.A., targeting seven businesses in Colorado Springs.

Investigators say the shops were selling THC and psilocybin products without a license, and even selling those products to minors. The stores in question are five Speedys Smoke Shop locations, as well as two Los Compadres Liquor Store locations.

The investigation started in May of 2025 when CSPD got a tip from a shipping company about some suspicious packaging.

CSPD's Metro Task Force says it recovered over 200 pounds of THC and psilocybin products addressed to Speedys Smoke Shop at 3960 Airport Road.

Investigators say some of these products were sold to minors at Speedys Smoke Shop and Los Compadres Liquor Store.

"At one of the locations we hit today, we found a 16-year-old juvenile who was alone in the store working behind the counter selling the products," said Ira Cronin with CSPD. "Even some of these products were being sold to minors."

KRDO13 reached out to the store owner, who said the worker was her daughter and that she was there for about an hour because another worker had called out sick.

Cronin says selling these products without a license is serious.

"If juveniles can get their hands on it or find places that will sell it to them, they're going to take advantage of that."

CSPD says they served warrants to the stores and seized large quantities of THC products, along with psilocybin products, 7-OH, and cash.

"We seized a lot of evidence today," Cronin said. "It's going to take us a few days to really tally it up."

No arrests have been made yet, but Cronin says that could change as the investigation continues.

"The sky's the limit here based on initially what we found today."

When KRDO13 reached out to the owner of the businesses, they did not respond to questions about the allegations that they sold these products to minors.

They did send a text message which says the following:

"We're a serious business and are working/cooperating to resolve this matter and to have a better understanding of what rules apply to what type of license."
