CSPD investigation prompts shelter-in-place near Fillmore; order since lifted

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- A shelter-in-place order has been lifted after a police investigation Tuesday night near Fillmore Street in Colorado Springs.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), officers were called to Wood Avenue near Fillmore for a shooting. A boy reported that his father shot his mother in the leg, leading officers to surround the home, police said.

CSPD said officers tried to get inside the home but were unsuccessful. They called the suspect and later determined that no one inside was injured, police said.

At that point, police said, officers decided to stop trying to get inside the home.

CSPD lifted the shelter-in-place order just after 10 p.m. Tuesday.
