Fatal traffic accident prompts road closures near I-25 and N. Nevada; roads now reopened

UPDATE: CSPD says the accident had been cleared and traffic was back to normal around 5:15 p.m.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- A traffic crash near I-25 and North Nevada Avenue has prompted road closures and traffic delays.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), the accident occurred on North Nevada Avenue, where it transitions into Corporate Drive.

CSPD says that when they arrived, they found a three-car crash. According to officials, one person was taken to a local hospital and another person was pronounced dead at the scene.

The southbound I-25 off-ramp at Exit 148 onto North Nevada Avenue is closed. North Nevada Avenue is also closed near Pulpit Peak View, with no access to northbound or southbound I-25 from the road.

Additionally, all westbound lanes on Corporate Drive are closed.

Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes and expect delays in the area.
