KRDO

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- The body of a missing boater was found early Monday after an hours-long search at Lake Pueblo State Park, according to the Colorado Parks and Wildlife.

The recovery was made after CPW said the boater went missing around 5:30 p.m. Sunday in the Peck Creek area, located in the west-central section of the park.

CPW said its Marine Evidence Recovery Team used an underwater robot to find the body in nearly 50 feet of water. The body was found around 2:45 a.m. Monday, the agency said.

CPW said the death is being investigated as "a fatal boating accident."

Multiple agencies assisted CPW with the water search. Emergency personnel from the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office and the Pueblo West Fire Department also responded to the incident.
