CSPD and FBI Denver to hike Manitou Incline in honor of first responders on 25th anniversary of 9/11 terrorist attacks

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Local law enforcement members will come together to climb the Manitou Incline Friday morning to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

Members of the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), along with FBI Denver members, will start the hike at 7:15 a.m. Officials say CSPD and the FBI chose to climb the Manitou Incline because of its physical demands and the chance to honor those who responded to the terrorist attacks on 9/11.

CSPD says the Colorado Springs Police Protective Association, SHIELD616, and the Broadmoor will assist at the climb with parking, food, and drinks.

Because of the event, the Manitou Incline Trail will be closed until 9 a.m. on Friday for the memorial climb.
