Colorado State Patrol seeks suspect in alleged assault on tow truck driver

Colorado State Patrol

LINCOLN COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado State Patrol (CSP) is asking for help identifying a suspect who was involved in a physical altercation on I-70 on Sunday.

Around 7:30 p.m. on July 5, officials say a tow truck operator was getting ready to tow a car from eastbound I-70, near milepost 347 west of Limon, when the incident happened. The tow truck driver attempted to wave the suspect past his truck when the suspect pulled over in front of the tow truck.

According to CSP, the suspect then got out of his car and engaged in a physical altercation with the tow truck driver.

The suspect fled the scene in a silver 2007 Dodge Dakota hauling tires and a two-wheel car. Officials say the car has a Colorado license plate reading AEMF22.

The tow truck driver was taken to a local hospital with serious bodily injury.

CSP is asking for help in identifying the suspect. Officials describe him as a white male around six feet tall in his mid-50s, with a receding hairline and longer hair in the back.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the CSP Pueblo Dispatch Center and reference case 3D260690.
