Hot, Hazy end to the Weeekend

Today: Expect another warm afternoon across Southern Colorado, with highs climbing into the upper 80s for Colorado Springs and the 90s for Pueblo and the plains. We’ll start the day relatively quiet, but clouds will increase with opportunities for isolated showers and thunderstorms, especially west of I-25, Raton Mesa, and Palmer Divide. Smoke from the Aspen Acres Fire may still be noticeable at times, and air quality may change depending on where smoke is moving.

Tonight: Any showers and storms that develop will wind down through the evening, leaving us partly cloudy and mild overnight. Colorado Springs will fall into the upper 50s, with 60s across some of our lower elevations. Smoke may continue to shift around depending on wind direction, so hazy skies and reduced air quality may remain an issue in some areas.

This Week: The broader pattern turns more active as moisture begins working into Colorado. That opens the door for daily rounds of showers and thunderstorms, especially over the mountains at first, with better chances spreading into parts of the I-25 corridor beginning Tuesday. Primary concerns will be lightning and gusty outflow winds.
