Pueblo West Fourth of July fireworks show postponed due to weather conditions

PUEBLO WEST, Colo. (KRDO) -- Pueblo West's 4th of July fireworks show has been postponed due to ongoing dry weather conditions and an increased risk of wildfire.

Officials announced the decision was made "out of an abundance of caution" to help protect residents, visitors, and the surrounding community.

Instead of taking place on Independence Day, the fireworks display has been rescheduled for the community's Holiday in Lights Parade on Dec. 5, when conditions are expected to be safer.

Despite the change, the 4th of July celebration at Civic Center Park will continue as planned, according to officials.

Community members can still enjoy a full lineup of family-friendly activities throughout the event. The Parks and Recreation Department says a complete schedule of festivities will be released soon.
