Colorado Springs woman accused of killing Colorado law enforcement members in Idaho crash

Idaho County Jail/Idaho State Police

KOOSKIA, Idaho (KRDO) – The Idaho State Police (ISP) says it is investigating a three-fatality crash that happened around 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, on U.S. Highway 12 near milepost 113 east of Kooskia.

ISP says the preliminary investigation indicates a 2019 Ford F-150 was traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 12 when the driver attempted to pass another vehicle in a marked no-passing zone. The pickup crossed the double yellow centerline and collided with three motorcycles traveling eastbound.

The three motorcyclists sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene, according to law enforcement.

The Idaho County Coroner identified all three people killed as men from Colorado. The three victims of this crash were Ethan Powers, age 35, of Timnath, Colorado; Jeremy Coleman, age 45, of Berthoud, Colorado; and Nathan McCormick, age 26, of Loveland, Colorado.

Colorado Fraternal Order of Police (CFOP) confirmed that two of the victims, Sergeant Jeremy Coleman and Deputy Ethan Powers, worked for the Larimer County Sheriff's Office. CFOP says the third victim, Nathan McCormick, was the sergeant's son-in-law.

ISP says the 60-year-old Neale Brewer, driver of the Ford from Colorado Springs, was transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation. Following her release, she was arrested and booked into the Idaho County Jail on probable cause for three counts of vehicular manslaughter.

U.S. Highway 12 was closed for approximately six hours while emergency responders assisted at the scene and investigators processed evidence.

ISP was assisted by the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office, the Idaho County Coroner’s Office, the Idaho Transportation Department, and local fire and EMS personnel.

The Colorado Fraternal Order of Police released the following statement:
