Ellicott Utilities Company under boil water notice

ELLICOTT, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Ellicott Utilities Company says customers are under a boil water notice until water system samples can be tested, which usually come back in 24-48 hours.
The company said that they completed repairs on Wednesday morning, and sediment may have been disturbed resulting in hazy water. A spokesperson with the company says this is just a precautionary measure.
A company spokesperson says that they temporarily shut water off in the overnight hours to conduct valve maintenance due to a leaky valve.
The company says customers should boil tap water used for:
- Drinking
- Cooking
- Brushing teeth
- Washing fruits/vegetables
- Making ice
Customers should boil water for at least one minute at a rolling boil.
The spokesperson with the company says that they will release the boil water notice once they get confirmation from CDPHE that they're clear to do so.
