Body of missing Silverthorne toddler located by search crews

SILVERTHORNE, Colo. (KRDO) -- Silverthorne town officials say search crews have located the body of a missing toddler.
On Tuesday afternoon, officials with the town say a search began after a report of a missing one and a half year old child. Multiple agencies responded, including the Silverthorne Police Department, Colorado State Patrol, the Summit County Sheriff’s Office, the Dillon Police Department, the Frisco Police Department, Summit County Rescue Group, Summit Fire and EMS, and the Red, White and Blue Fire Protection District.
Town officials say the toddler was reported missing from the Willow Grove Open Space, which is right next to a body of water, the Blue River.
While officials did not say where specifically the toddler's body was found, they did say that the search immediately began with a search of the river.
At 5 p.m., officials say they located the body. The Summit County Coroner's Office will be tasked with confirming the cause of death and publicly releasing the child's identity.
