Noticias Telemundo Sur Colorado’s Andrea Herrera selected as ’40 Under 40′ winner

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - On Tuesday, KRDO13's very own Andrea Herrera was honored as one of Southern Colorado's "40 Under 40."

Hosted by the Southern Colorado Business Forum & Digest, the event features 40 community members who are under the age of 40 years old and are making strides in their professional or philanthropic careers.

"Winners were selected by an independent review committee using a vigorous rubric that focuses on multiple facets of each candidate including: impact, innovation, leadership, achievements, community involvement, ethics and integrity and more," read a release from the Business Digest.

Andrea Herrera joined the KRDO13 team back in the fall of 2022. Prior to her time here, she worked as a Bilingual Multimedia Journalist in Kansas.

Herrera now focuses her time on KRDO13's Noticias Telemundo Sur Colorado. The newscast, which is available to watch on 13.2, is Southern Colorado's only local Spanish-speaking newscast. Producer Ivette Saucedo and Multimedia Journalist/Forecaster Karla Sosa are also part of the Telemundo team.

Herrera has spent an incredible amount of time building the newscast, and her efforts have shown. She is passionate about ensuring the Spanish-speaking community has their voices heard and receives news they can trust.
