CSPD investigating shooting as law enforcement blocks off Colorado Springs neighborhood

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - A large law enforcement presence was seen in Colorado Springs Wednesday, prompting a closure of about two blocks in a local neighborhood at Dudley Avenue and Bijou Street.

A KRDO13 reporter on scene reported seeing SWAT vehicles, while neighbors say they've also saw K-9s and drones.

Colorado Springs police say they received a call for service at around 7:00 AM for a man suffering from a gunshot wound. They say the investigation led them to a home on the 2600 block of E. Bijou Street, where they brought in the Tactical Enforcement Unit "due to the nature of the investigation." They say several people were detained briefly.

KRDO13 crews on scene saw six individuals leave the residence.

The Assault Unit and the Armed Violent Offender Unit have assumed the investigation, according to CSPD. They are developing suspect information.

Details about this case are limited, but this article may be updated.
