Crash closes US 24 in both directions between Trail Creek Road and Ponda Rosa Store

MGN

TELLER COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) - The Colorado Department of Transportation says US 24 is closed in both directions between Trail Creek Road and Ponda Rosa Store.

It's about 3 miles southwest of Florissant at Mile Point 266. Drivers should use caution in the area and find alternate routes.

Colorado State Patrol (CSP) says they received a call about the crash at 1:22 p.m.

They say a car hit a water truck, and that truck was in a ditch leaking fuel. CSP says a hazmat team was notified to get on scene.

One person was airlifted out with life-threatening injuries.

CSP does not have an update on when the highway will reopen.
