Free activities in Colorado Springs to celebrate Earth Day

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo (KRDO) - There is a variety of free events happening in Colorado Springs to celebrate Earth Day!
The City of Colorado Springs is gearing up for a series of events and initiatives to promote environmental conservation in honor of Earth Day on Monday, April 22. There are several free opportunities for residents and visitors to participate in.
Three Parks in Three Days
Three Parks in Three Days is a clean-up event organized by Friends of Peregrine Park and Open Spaces, The Guardians of Palmer Park, and The Friends of Ute Valley Park. Interested volunteers can register here.
This year, volunteers will perform various forms of trail work, including revegetation cleaning off trail corridors and closing down social trails in Blodgett Open Space (April 19), Palmer Park (April 20), and Ute Valley Park (April 21). All events are from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
27th Annual Garden of the Gods Earth Day Celebration
On Saturday, April 20, the Garden of the Gods Nature Center will host its free annual Earth Day Celebration that will feature interactive activities for attendees of all ages, including live demonstrations, educational booths, crafts, and live animal experiences. For more information click here.
Keep America Beautiful Great American Cleanup
On Saturday, April 27, from 9 a.m. to noon, volunteers can join the Fountain Creek Watershed District at more than 20 sites throughout the Pikes Peak Region for the Keep America Beautiful Great American Cleanup. Trash bags and safety vests will be provided at each site. To register, click here.
