Colorado Springs Fire Department graduates 36 trainees
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - On Friday, Dec. 15 the Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) will host the Training Academy 23-2 graduation.
Colorado Springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade will deliver the oath of office to 36 trainees.
CSFD says that all trainees completed a rigorous 20-week training academy in preparation to become Colorado Springs firefighters. The academy tests trainees on skills across the board from medicals to hazmat and everything in between.
This class has worked hard and proved they’re ready to serve our community as CSFD firefighters.
CSFD provided some facts about Training Academy class 23-2:
- 23-2 contains the highest number of female trainees the department has ever had. 4 women will join the department as firefighters
- This is the largest CSFD Training academy to date.
- There are 9 veterans from the Air Force, Navy, Army, and Marines 13 are Colorado natives and 9 are Colorado Springs natives.
- Additionally, trainees from across the country chose CSFD as their department. They come from California, Illinois, New York, Vermont, Michigan, Texas, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Nebraska, and Kansas.
