Motorcyclist identified in fatal crash in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The El Paso County coroner's office has identified the body of 33-year-old Ryan Girard, who died in a fatal crash in Colorado Springs.

On November 12, 2023, at 4:07 p.m., CSPD officers responded to the intersection of North Nevada Avenue and Mount View Lane regarding a traffic crash involving a motorcycle and another vehicle. The motorcycle, Girard, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.

It was determined the motorcycle was traveling northbound on North Nevada Avenue when the other vehicle turned left to go eastbound on Mount View Lane. The two vehicles collided and the initial investigation indicates speed was a contributing factor.

This is the 46th traffic fatality in Colorado Springs this year. At this time last year, there
were 50 traffic fatalities. There have been 52 traffic fatalities in the Colorado Springs in
the last 365 days.
